The Wines
Our mission: Distinctive Wines with Intensity, Complexity, Balance and Varietal Clarity.
As wine lovers ourselves, that is what we are looking for in wines and this is what we strive to offer to our customers: An approachable but uncompromising and complete wine, to be enjoyed on its own or as an enhancement to favorite dishes.
REDS
As we progress through 2010, we will be gradually unfolding a superb collection of such wines. We started the year with a wonderful quartet released last year: 2005 Cabernet Franc (Sierra Foothills), 2005 Tempranillo (Sierra Foothills), 2006 Petite Sirah (Clarksburg) and 2005 Titan IX (our ninth red blend - Tempranillo & Petite Sirah)
In the first quarter, we released the following wines: 2008 Malbec (Alta Mesa), 2006 Petite Sirah (Sierra Foothills) and our 2007 Prt (texting spelling for "port", now a proprietary word for Portuguese-produced ports), a luscious blend of Petite Sirah, Barbera and Tempranillo.
We also pre-released, for our Wine Club Members, our 2006 Tempranillo (Sierra Foothills) and Titan X (Cabernet Franc & Tempranillo blend). Our 2007 Barbera and 2008 Zinfandel will be released in the second quarter (both now released).
Our estate 2005 Cinq Etoiles, a true five-variety (Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec & Petit Verdot) Bordeaux blend, very successful in the previous release (Silver at Orange County Fair), will be released later in the year, along with a few more Titan blends, a 2007 Syrah, a 2007 Tannat and a 2007 Touriga Nacional.
WHITES & ROSÉ
We will be introducing our first Rosé, a Barbera (2009), as intense and exuberant in its own style as its red brother (now released).
We will also be releasing our first white blend, called Pandora No.1 (2008 - Chardonnay from our neighbor's Jewett vineyard and, from our own vineyard, Sauvignon Blanc & Semillon - now released). Pandora, in "real" life a "sister" moon (around Saturn) to our red blend namesake, Titan, will be the name of all our future white blends, reflecting the plethora of harmonious flavors and aroma escaping from the legendary "box".
Our 2007 Fleur de Lune, a luscious Gewurztraminer & White/Orange Muscat blend, with just a dash of sweetness upfront, disappearing into a refreshing, crisp and long finish, comes next, in time to enjoy during the summer (now released). This wine has been a favorite in the previous 2 vintages, even for hard core red wine lovers (the secret is all in the balance between acidity and sweetness).
Finally, in 2009, after the very succesful small volume introduction (and quick disappearance) of our 2007 Verdelho and the 2007 Torrontés, we have increased the production for both wines so we do not run out of either so quickly (the fact that both were very popular was also part of the problem). Furthermore, the Torrontés was made in two versions this time around, off-dry (similar to the Fleur de Lune) and dry. Both to be released during the summer.
